Intel(R) Display Audio Realtek(R) Audio.with something called Intel High Definition DSP for which the driver is missing.I can TEMPORARILY correct this by doing the following: Highlight the device called Intel High Definition DSP in the Other devices category in Device Manager so its easier to keep track of.
Intel High Definition Dsp Audio Driver Is MissingIn Device Manager, go to the View menu and switch from Devices by type to Devices by connection to change how devices are displayed. Scroll down in Device Manager and locate the device called Intel High Definition DSP (which should still be highlighted) to see that its now listed underneath an item called Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller (if the item is expanded). Intel High Definition Dsp Audio Install Device FromRight-click on Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller (NOT Intel High Definition DSP) and choose Uninstall device from the menu. In Device Manager, go to the View menu and switch back to Devices by type to change how devices are displayed again. In Device Manager, click the Scan for hardware changes button (or right-click on any device and choose that option). You should see that Intel(R) Display Audio and Realtek(R) Audio both show up as devices in the Sound, video and game controllers category as they should. However I found that it automatically reverted back to the non-working state after 10 mins or so As a workaround I actually rolled back the Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller driver to previous version and so far it seems stable But agree, this is a workaround only and not a permanent solution, especially as we are all currently working from home (as HPG correctly points out). Whats frustrating about this is that nothing you do in Group Policy (whether via Hardware ID or completely blocking driver updates) seems to stop this Intel update from coming in, and even hiding the update entirely after you uninstall it (using Microsofts own official tool for the task) still results in the update being installed, despite the tool claiming its hidden and not installed. Its very strange, and I assume this issue will grow as more people roll through the update (I only applied mine today) Cheers. We are in France, with high Covid-19 situation, everybody working remotely. So Sound for conference, meeting, tchat is imperative Yes i see these workaround but this is time consuming and we all need a definitive updatesolution RIGHT NOW (Yes, sorry, Im very angry with this stupid bug.).
